About
Twenty-five years.
IGS was formed in January 2001 to do one thing well: solve the process problems that cost Queensland Government departments time and money.
That started as broad ICT process design, automation and solution development. It has not fundamentally changed. The technology has, the problem has not. Departments still run critical processes on paper, in inboxes, and in spreadsheets that one person understands.
How the work grew
What changed along the way
Health and aged care
Sector work that took us from process design into applied research.
Cloud and platform delivery
As the Microsoft platform matured, the automation work moved onto it. That is where the delivery side of IGS sits today.
Procurement
Two decades of running procurement and contracts inside government became a business in its own right: GovP2P.
Applied research
IoT for aged care and disability
IGS invested in IoT research for the aged care and disability sectors, building predictive analysis of patient care progress, with the aim of making the technology genuinely usable by aged care staff rather than another system to manage.
This was a research investment, not a service we sell. It shaped how we think about building technology for people who did not ask to become technologists.
The company today
A parent company with an active delivery practice
We build process automation on the Microsoft platform, and we back the ventures that came out of twenty-five years of government technology work.
